iCAN: Feel Safe, Feel Secure (APR23)
This interactive and informative Discovery Evening looks at increasing your understanding and knowledge about the work of the Trident Gang Crime Command and the Specialist Crime and Operations Specialist Firearms Command (SCO19) to better inform and protect you, your family and community.
The iCAN: Feel Safe, Feel Secure Discovery Evening takes place on Thursday 23rd April 2015 at Empress State Building, Lillie Road, London, SW6 between 6:00pm – 8:30pm. This evening provides an ideal opportunity for community leaders and individuals to better understand how the MPS is tackling violence, managing intelligence and keeping you safe as well as:-
- De-mystifying the role of Trident and armed officers
- Understanding the use of Tasers, mission creep and mental health concerns
- Managing public opinion, media reporting and scrutiny
- Increasing efforts to keep London’s streets safe
And that’s not all.
As well as powerful presentations from our speakers, the iCAN Feel Safe, Feel Secure Discovery Evening provides a unique opportunity to hear from serving Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Officers and staff associations sharing personal insights and stories about what it’s like to work for the MPS. And there’s more.
The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is keen to work with advocates who have “big ideas” about how to improve the appeal of a career as a police officer for women and BME officers. In return, volunteers will receive ongoing training, mentoring and access to specialist departments to help develop their BIG IDEA.
Here’s your chance to leverage your ideas, talent, skills, knowledge and local networks to help the MPS look, feel and sound like the London it serves.
