UK Small Business Commissioner: Policy for Secondary Legislation
This is to inform you of a consultation on the Small Business Commissioner. Established by the Enterprise Act 2016, the Small Business Commissioner will support small businesses in resolving payment disputes with their larger customers that can hold them back.
The Commissioner, who is expected to be appointed in 2017, will provide general information and advice, direct small businesses to existing dispute resolution services and handle complaints by small businesses about the payment practices of their larger customers to encourage a culture change in how companies deal with one another.
They are consulting with businesses of all sizes on how the Commissioner will operate and handle complaints and the definition of a small business for the purposes of the Commissioner’s services.
Please respond to the Small Business Commissioner: Policy for Secondary Legislation by 7 December 2016.
