International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development 2017

Countrystyle Community Tourism, Business Improvement District and Brixton Neighbourhood Forum with support from local chambers of commerce, will celebrate the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development at a reception in Brixton, London on Wednesday 1st March 2017,6.30pm.

The UN International Year will promote tourism’s role in the following five key areas: Inclusive and sustainable economic growth; social inclusiveness, employment and poverty reduction; Resource efficiency, environmental protection and climate change; cultural values, diversity and heritage; and mutual understanding, peace and security.

London is a city at the centre of the world providing leadership in promoting inclusive communities for inspiring peaceful, accessible, caring and enterprising neighbourhoods.

Countrystyle Community Tourism Network (CCTN) through the Villages as Businesses (VAB) programme has pioneered community development for communities by providing business development, education, training and marketing support.
