A Simple Thank You to Some Very Special People

On this International Women’s Day I’d like to say thank you to a few of the women in the UK who helped me along the way over the last 20 years.

I met Sonia Brown MBE at the turn of the century and she was an inspiration. I attended her business workshops, many free of cost and learnt a lot about doing business in the UK. Thank you, Sonia.

Shortly after I met Yvonne Witter who open her doors to me, and gave me opportunities to speak at her events and promote my books; she gave me my first radio interview. Thank you, Yvonne.

Next, I met the amazing Mavis Amankwah- an outstanding businesswoman. She too opened her doors to me and helped me in my business over the years.

In 2016 she saw it fitting to include me among her first awardees for a Black Enterprise Mogul Award. Thank you Mavis.

In 2014 I met Dr. Bola Olabisi – an extraordinary entrepreneur, a remarkable model for women, irrespective of their colour or creed. She enabled me to showcase and receive international awards for my Pocket Learner invention, my flagship educational resource for families of children with special educational needs. Thank you Dr. Bola.

Most recently I met the phenomenal Lady Anita Bradshaw who did not hesitate to embrace me and gave me my latest international (Powerhouse) award. She continues to create opportunities for me and for many others, a truly inspirational woman of heart. Thank you, Lady Anita.

Sometimes the giants on whose shoulders we stand are right here with us. I take the opportunity to express my gratitude to the giants I have met and who are still here. To those I have not named, please know that I appreciate you and treasure you. May you all continue to flourish and impact the world in your wonderful way.

Happy International Women’s Day!
