When the meditation, mindfulness and medication don’t cut it anymore, it can be very challenging to carry on with the required optimism and ‘fake it til you make it’ attitude needed to break that chronic stress cycle.

Believe it or not, by visualising your ideal life and writing down your goals, you are taking the first steps to introducing more structure, discipline and mental wellbeing in your life.


Greater clarity helps to remove the confusion and anxiety that often controls a stressful day (and life). It motivates and allows you to focus without the distractions that keep you emotionally off balance.


More importantly you feel more fulfilled, productive and confident. That is why it is important to learn how to break the habits that disempower rather than empower you.


Better understand your emotional triggers and the stressors which bring negativity rather than positivity into your life.


Too much exposure to stress can lead to greater feelings of sadness and disharmony.


This in turn will make it more difficult to embrace change, even if you know it’s important for your long term happiness.


This is No Time to Rest on Your Laurels

Doing nothing is more than simply a lack of energy and reduced productivity in your business or career performance.


If left unchecked for a long period of time, it will reduce your resilience and make it more difficult to recover.


Why?

It impacts on your physical and health; affects your motivation and compromises social relationships.


If you feel you are heading towards or suffering from burnout, then it’s important that you start looking for adequate support.


Don’t put off having a regular health check. Invest in a life coach or therapy. Take up a sport or simply go walking to improve your resilience.


This will help you to work towards building a positive attitude, but be warned. You must be realistic and have balanced expectations when setting your future goals.


Learning to take care of your mental wellbeing is more than ‘candy floss’ psychology and chanting affirmations.
