Growth Experts Help Local Businesses Build Their Teams for the Future

Despite the Brexit doom and gloom, rising inflation and the recent hit to the Pound, there was good news from the ONS on Wednesday as they announced unemployment had only seen a very small increase in the previous quarter, indicating continuing confidence in the economy; good news for employees and employers!

“It’s reassuring that we’re in a growth conducive environment”, says YTKO CEO, Bev Hurley CBE, “but our own experience, 30 years of supporting other growing businesses and feedback from our current client base tells us that the concern of the average SME is as much about hiring and retaining the right teams as it is about growing it in the first place. There’s little point in increasing your headcount if you don’t have the right people in the right roles, proper review and reward systems in place and an idea of how that team can develop and grow with you.”

Discussing issues just like this, Hurley will be sharing insight from a wealth of hands-on experience at “Building your Team for the Future," GetSet’s free Expo for growing businesses in Cambridge on Wednesday 8th February 2017.

She will be joined by Maria Shin, ACAS Senior Adviser, who will be talking about internal communications, leadership roles and avoiding common disputes.

Having spent years working with SMEs at various growth stages, GetSet for Growth provides businesses with key insights into the recurring themes and challenges that business leaders face when scaling their operations.

From helping businesses to find more profitable customers and assisting them to access the right growth finance to helping them to define the best business structure and finding the right teams.

The expo is expecting attendees from across the region; all looking to access much-needed, free advice and guidance on this particular growth headache.

Dominic Phipps, Head of B2B Recruitment from Brand Recruitment says, “We’ve noticed a steady upturn in the job market over recent years, but competition for both employers and candidates is strong. Businesses that understand how to build the right teams and develop individuals so that they grow with the company are in high demand by candidates who are looking far more strategically at their own career paths. Two-way communication and development is key.”

Brand Recruitment are exhibiting at the expo alongside organisations like NatWest, Call HR, Moore Stephens, Howes Percival and The Bratton Group to name a few.

Talking about the event, Naomi Davis, Senior Marketing Advisor with GetSet says, “We’re extremely excited. We’ve partnered with some high-profile organisations; leaders in their field. And it is great to be able to give businesses the opportunity to come together and address their challenges head-on, whilst gaining strategic, tangible knowledge on how totackle them and maintain their all-important business growth.”

It seems the message is clear; growing your team is an integral part of your business growth journey; regardless of what’s happening in the economy.
