Blue Paradise Farms is a start-up eco-farm-cum-training site in Friendship District, Westmoreland, Jamaica.
The project aims to transform 15 acres of former sugarcane plantation into a tranquil haven:
where teachers of agriculture-related subjects (Permaculture, organic farming, beekeeping etc.) and others can run courses and events
where guests can come to relax and destress
which visitors to the island can use as a base from which to explore the island - a home away from home
where persons of goodwill are welcome.
To kick off the development of the site, we are holding our first-ever Permaculture Design Course! Permaculture is a branch of ecology encompassing design for sustainable human living systems: organic farming, eco-construction, site surveying, community regeneration, forestry, education, trade and economics etc. This course, led by dynamic and inspirational International Permaculture Teacher Peter Cow, promises to be a fun-filled yet educational experience and will tackle such vital issues as Water Management Systems and Soil Techniques.

In addition to this 72-hour PDC course:
We have our own professional Jamaican chef, Chef Kevin who caters for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters
Apart from being a Permaculture tutor, Peter Cow is also a musician and will share his talent with us.
We have a field trip to an idyllic eco-resort which has an organic farm, river, off-grid energy etc. etc.
There will also be a talent show

Residential Jamaicans are given the option of attending the first 2 days (i.e. March 13-14) which forms the Introduction to Permaculture course (not certified) or attending the Full Permaculture Design Certificate Course which is certified.
